New Steering Head and Front Forks

Whether it’s a big sweeping curve or a set oftight turns, getting through the corners just got better. We stiffened up thefront end, increased the fork diameter to 49mm and added new steel ballbearings, with lubricant contained inside to keep contaminants out fordurability. New Rear to Front Linked Brakes

No doubt about it, there are times riding whenyou need to haul things down in a hurry. That’s why the Tri Glide® Ultra® modelcomes standard with rear to front linked brakes. When the rear brake is appliedthe system also applies the front brake for maximum stopping power. However, thefront brake is independent so you can use it without applying and brake to therear. No matter how good you are, this will make you a better rider.

17" Impeller® Front Wheel With New Brake Rotor

Sitting out front on the Tri Glide® Ultra® model,you’ll notice a 17-inch cast aluminum, 10-spoke Impeller wheel. In the backyou’ve got a couple of 16-inch Impeller wheels to match. There are new brakerotors designed to show off more of the premium custom look of the wheels.Because if you’re going to go this far, you might as well take it all the way.

New Inner Fairing Design

Put your eye to the inner fairing of the TriGlide® Ultra® model and you’ll see a whole new layout to greet the eye. There’sa bigger display screen (see the whole story in the infotainment section). Thegauges have been given a new treatment, too. You’ll notice a 10 percent largerviewing area, wider, taller numbers sitting on top of that classic blackbackground. The information gets bigger and better too. There’s a gear indicatorfor all six gears and the display area, which can now be operated by anextremely convenient trigger switch, puts more information at your fingertips.The temperature and fuel gauge are larger too. When you’re on the road, onequick glance tells you everything you need to know.

We dialed in the comfort of our machines the hardway: over thousands of miles in all kinds of riding conditions on every kind ofstreet, road and highway ever laid down in pavement. Experienced riders andpassengers putting in long hours in the saddle and giving us feedback on everyaspect that contributes to comfort on the road. Airflow, heat management,passenger space, back rests, seat textures, leg room and hand controls all wentunder the hard microscope of the road and got tested and re-tested by realriders and worked and re-worked by us until we were satisfied we had built themost comfortable machines on the road. We all want to go farther, and when youand your passenger are more comfortable in the saddle, you can.

Full-Length Footboards & Toe/Heel Gear Shifts

Your boots were made for riding—any way you seefit. Our full-length footboards boast a time-tested, tried-and-true design andrubber isolation for a comfortable ride, while the height-adjustable passengerboards add another level of customizable comfort for your riding partner. Andfor shifting gears, you can use either the traditional toe-shift or the eveneasier, more convenient heel-shift. It might take a few rides, but once you'vegotten used to the smooth shifting rhythm, you'll never give it up.

Mid-Frame Air Deflectors

Designed and tested to deflect heat generatedfrom the V-Twin, the mid-frame air deflectors are enlisted for duty on everyride, especially the hotter days. These low-profile black deflectors are mountedto the frame of the Tri Glide® Ultra Classic® model just below the seat, andmove the heat away from your legs and body. Summer rides just got morecomfortable.

New Fairing Design Reduces Head Buffeting

This is what the science of cheating the windinvolves at Harley-Davidson now: Fluid mechanics, algorithms, high-speed supercomputers and thousands upon thousands of wind-tunnel tests with riders in thesaddle telling us how it feels. And that’s before we take it out on the road forthousands of miles of real world wind gusts and every form of rain a cloud canspit out. The result: a brand new take on the classic Batwing fairing thatdelivers smoother air flow and reduced head buffeting. Most of it thanks to thepressure-equalizing duct on the front. It opens and closes with one touch of abutton. The feeling of being in the wind just got even better.

Newly Designed Back and Arm Rests

If you really want to know what makes a passengercomfortable, you start by asking people who’ve seen a good part of the worldfrom the back of a bike. You run thousands of miles of road tests in heat, cold,sun, and rain. You use their input to perfect the height, the width, the shape,the contour, the texture of the leather, the lumbar support. You installcontrols that can be easily reached and operated with one hand. What you end upwith is the back and arm rests you’re looking at right here. Passengers lovethem like they’re their own babies, because in a manner of speaking, they are.

Standard Cruise Control

Installing cruise control is standard operatingprocedure on the new touring models because riding long stretches of unbrokenhighway is standard operating procedure among touring riders. Electronicthrottle control means no cable cluttering up your handlebar. And the switchesare placed where you can easily dial in your speed with your left thumb, givethe wrist a break, and keep hauling on down the road.

Foot-Operated Parking Brake

The new parking brake on the Tri Glide® Ultra®model couldn’t be any simpler to find or operate. It’s right there by your leftfoot. When you want lock in, you push it down. When it’s time to take off again,you give it another push. And a light has been added to the gauges to alert youwhen your parking brake is engaged.
